Age Categories for Tournament

Minnows – 6 years old and under

Blue Gills – 7-9 year olds

Bass – 10-12 year olds

Catfish – 13-15 year olds

Two prizes will be awarded for each group: most fish prize and largest fish prize

Fishing Derby Rules

1. The contest will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The sounding of a horn will start and finish the derby.
2. The derby is a catch and release.
3. Contestants are encouraged to bring their own fishing equipment and tackle. Fishing rods and tackle will also be available to borrow (live bait will be provided).
4. Parents CAN help bait hooks, net fish, remove fish from hooks, untangle lines, and cast BUT CONTESTANTS MUST CATCH AND RETRIEVE THE FISH.
5. Live bait and artificial lures are permitted.
6. No playing or throwing items in the pond. No fishing from dock.
7. All fish species and length are to be recorded on Score sheets provided at check-in.
8. A prize will be awarded for the following categories: Biggest Fish, and Most Fish in each age category.
9. Children must register in their age group online at www.metrolinachurch.orgor upon arrival at the Derby.
10.  Free lunch is provided for all participants and family members.
11.  Derby prizes and awards will be announced after lunch. Must be present to claim prize.  (ONLY ONE PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED PER CONTESTANT)
